While there is no specific order you must take Operation Halo courses in, the team does suggest taking the free Situational Awareness 101 course first. The skills taught in this course are simple and act as a foundation for women’s safety. For example, without Situational Awareness, you cannot practice Vehicle Safety and Defensive Driving, which requires alertness and awareness of other cars on the road. With 2-part courses, the order is also optional, and it is not a requirement to take both courses, as 1 might be more relevant to you. For example, someone may choose to take the Sexual Assault: Definition, Avoidance, and Immediate Action course, and feel fine omitting Sexual Assault: Recovery, because they do not have an instance of Sexual Assault to recover from. On the other hand, a sexual assault survivor might choose to take the recovery course first, or as the only course on that topic, if they feel the Sexual Assault: Definition, Avoidance, and Immediate Action may be triggering
